Farmers Market Activities

Our Famers Market Patch Program invites girls to explore their local farmers market and engage with vendors, artisans, and the community to discover the benefits of buying locally. This activity encourages curiosity, interaction, and learning through fun challenges.

Girls will:

• Try a new fruit or vegetable and note their experience.
• Ask vendors about the benefits and challenges of selling at the farmers market.
• Learn why supporting locally grown and handmade products is important.
• Explore the variety of products available, from fresh produce to handmade crafts, and tally the number of vendors offering different goods.
• Enjoy market experiences like live music, special events, and food from walk-around vendors.
• Reflect on the importance of eating locally and the value of community markets.

This activity not only helps Girl Scouts earn their Farmers Market Patch but also fosters an appreciation for sustainability, community support, and healthy living.
