NATIONAL S’MORES DAY PATCH PROGRAM
Objective: Celebrate National S’mores Day by exploring the history of s’mores, creating s’mores-themed crafts, and enjoying s’mores in a variety of fun and educational ways.
Program Overview:
  1. S’mores History & Fun Facts Activity: Research and learn about the history of s’mores. Create a presentation or write a short essay about how s’mores became a popular treat.
    Goal: Understand the origins and cultural significance of s’mores.
  2. S’mores Recipe Challenge Activity: Try making traditional s’mores and then experiment with different recipes (e.g., using different types of chocolate, adding fruit, or creating s’mores-inspired desserts). Share your creations with your troop.
    Goal: Learn about cooking and baking, and explore creativity in the kitchen.
  3. S’mores Craft Project Activity: Create s’mores-themed crafts such as s’mores bookmarks, s’mores-shaped ornaments, or s’mores art using craft supplies. You could also create a s’mores-themed memory jar.
    Goal: Develop craft skills and celebrate s’mores through artistic expression.
  4. S’mores Scavenger Hunt Activity: Organize a s’mores-themed scavenger hunt where girls search for items related to making s’mores (e.g., graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate). Include educational clues or questions about s’mores along the way.
    Goal: Combine physical activity with learning about s’mores.
  5. S’mores Community Service Activity: Host a s’mores party for your neighborhood or troop or create s’mores kits to donate to a food bank. Include a note about National S’mores Day and the importance of sharing.
